It is the reason Steward exists. Every architectural decision, from how we store documents to how we handle access, begins with the question of who should be able to see something.
Most wealth software is built for advisors and institutions. Steward is built for the family itself, by people who learned firsthand what happens when a family’s affairs live in a hundred scattered places.
Steward began in a season of loss. Our founder lost family members he loved, unexpectedly, and served as executor of what they left behind. The grief was one thing. The disorganization was another: hundreds of loose ends, accounts discovered by mail, documents scattered across drawers and inboxes, and wishes that had never quite been written down.
He wanted to be a good steward of their estates and their memory. What he found is that even a careful family is usually one unexpected event away from the same scramble, because the full picture lives in one person’s head, a dozen portals, and a spreadsheet from last spring.
Steward is the tool we wished had existed: one private place where a family’s accounts, entities, documents, and intentions stay together. Clear enough to manage well today, and complete enough to hand to the people who will need it.
We named it Steward because that is the conviction underneath it. What a family holds is entrusted to it for a time. Managed with care, it can provide for the people you love, steady the generation that follows, and leave room for generosity toward the needs around you. Steward exists to make that kind of care practical.
These are the principles that shape every decision we make about the product, the infrastructure, and how we handle your data.
It is the reason Steward exists. Every architectural decision, from how we store documents to how we handle access, begins with the question of who should be able to see something.
We would rather tell you plainly what Steward does and does not do than dress it up. We charge a fair price, we say what we mean on this site, and we treat your attention as something entrusted to us too.
A family's records should outlast the people who set them up. Steward is designed for continuity: records that persist, access that transfers, and structure that survives transition.
Crossmarc is a small, deliberate software company. We build private, high-trust tools that help families steward what they’ve been given, starting with their finances and in time other parts of family life. We do not have a growth-at-all-costs mandate. We have families whose records we are responsible for, and we take that responsibility seriously.
Steward is Crossmarc’s first product. It runs on a platform we designed and operate ourselves, built around privacy, durability, and careful access control.
We also believe good stewardship includes generosity. Crossmarc gives at least 10% of its gross profits to charitable causes, including Crossmarc Cares, our own 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which works to meet urgent needs in our community and to encourage and equip people in their life’s calling.
We are headquartered in the United States. Questions and partnership inquiries are welcome. Write to us any time.
